Summary: This book is a story written through poems about a boy who gets a pet guinea pig. You can’t help but love Theodore as he gets used to his new home.
What I Think: I think guinea pigs are the cutest of all rodents so I loved this story! I’ve never had a guinea pig myself, but there is a lot to learn about guinea pigs as pets through this fun story told in poems. I read this and then also read non-fiction about guinea pigs about pets!

Snatch of Text:
“Roommates”
A faint whistle
in the dark.
What’s that?
I listen hard?
Sleepy wheet,
soft chrrr.
Tiny peep,
teeny squeep.
Theodore’s telling me,
Good night.
Sleep tight,
I whisper back.
I hope
he doesn’t snore.
