It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!
It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It's also a great chance to see what others are reading right now...you just might discover your next “must-read” book!
Kellee Moye, of Unleashing Readers, and I decided to give It's Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children's literature - picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit - join us! We love this meme and think you will, too. We encourage everyone who participates to visit at least three of the other kidlit book bloggers that link up and leave comments for them.

Last Week's Book Adventures:
Over the weekend, I finished This Book Is Gay and immediately walked it over to our neighbors to get their opinions. I really enjoyed it but am curious how someone who is gay feels about it. Peanut and I finished up Quirkus Circus, too! It was super cute to watch him guess how it was going to end. I also ready Sunny Side Up by Jenni and Matt Holm. It was great to read a non-Babymouse or Squish graphic novel from them for a change (although I adore Babymouse and Squish!). I'm also well into Another Day by David Levithan after seeing him and lots of author amazing authors at the Anderson's Bookshop YA Literature Conference on Saturday. Friday night we also met Aaron Reynolds and he read aloud his new picture book Nerdy Birdy which was super cute!

Upcoming Book Adventures:
I read more of The Construction Zone this week but also jumped into unpacking Lucy Calkins' Units of Study. Both are amazing and I'm glad to read more. I'm excited to read more of Another Day and then I have so many other great books waiting for me. Peanut bought the first book in Dan Gutman's The Genius Files and I'm excited to reread some parts of it with him.
Check back throughout the week to read these reviews/posts.
