It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!
Kellee Moye, of Unleashing Readers, and I decided to give It's Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children's literature - picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit - join us! We love this meme and think you will, too. We encourage everyone who participates to visit at least three of the other kidlit book bloggers that link up and leave comments for them.
Last Week's Book Adventures:
I spent the last week cherishing a beautiful book. It's called The Wrong Way to Save Your Life by Megan Stielstra and it's a collection of essays. Essays are my new favorite writing. I think about my blog posts and the stories I have to share and I wonder if I'm meant to write essays. It's part allure of a new kind of writing and part that I absolutely adore her writing and wish I could write something as moving. Suffice it to say, I love it.

Upcoming Book Adventures:
I'm about halfway through The Wrong Way to Save Your Life so I'm going to keep reading and soaking it up. I spotted Capture the Flag the other day in a stack of books and I actually think it would make a perfect bedtime read for both of my kids so we're going to start that tomorrow when we get back into our routine. We go back to school tomorrow. I'm excited to see what the rest of this school year brings. One thing I do know it will bring is lots and lots of writing. This is my year to renew my National Board certification and I have only just barely started working on everything I have to write up...so that's being added to all my other regularly schedule writing. Love it!

You got me all excited about The Wrong Way to Save Your Life, but when I searched my three libraries, I came up empty! Boo. This sounds like such wonderfully, inspirational reading — something we could all really use. I will probably look into ILLing this title since my budget is zilch right now. By the way, I was so excited when Game Changer! came in the mail this week. Thank you for sending it! I've add it to my #MustReadin2019 list so I hope to schedule it into the next couple months. Have a wonderful reading week, Jen!
ReplyDeleteCapture the Flag - what an amazing book choice for your kids :) Good luck with all the work that goes into renewing your National Board Certification
ReplyDeleteYou are a busy woman, Jen. Good luck with all that work to renew. I love essays, too, will look for "The Wrong Way To Save Your Life". Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'll be looking for The Wrong Way to Save Your Life. These days I'm drawn to reading all kinds of nonfiction. I finished and loved Birds Art Life last year. The more I read, the more I crave. Good luck with all your work.
ReplyDeleteLove reading about your enthusiasm on writing - I should recapture that again this year. :)
