It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!
It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a weekly blog hop I co-host with Kellee and Ricki from Unleashing Readers. The original IMWAYR, with an adult literature focus, was started by Sheila at Book Journeys and is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date.
It's a great way to share what you're reading and get recommendations. We encourage you to write your own post sharing what you’re reading, link up below, leave a comment, and support other IMWAYR bloggers by visiting and commenting on at least three of the other linked blogs.
Last Week's Adventures:
I am on a huge audiobook roll! I finished listening to This Is Our Rainbow and it is such an awesome collection! Definitely recommend. I also listened to You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson, Shuri by Nic Stone, and Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas. I have to say I was not prepared for Cemetery Boys to have me freaking out the way it did. It was phenomenal and You Should See Me in a Crown was fabulous as well. I feel super lucky to be able to share such amazing books with students. Most days I find myself marveling at how far books have come from when I was a kid in the 80’s.
Although I adore all the newly published books, I did also decide to listen to Jonathan Livingston Seagull this week because I’ve noticed birds popping up for different reasons and it’s a book my dad recommended to me when I was young.
Our school participates in Battle of the Books and I’ve already read some of the books we have on our list but I also listened to two picture books: Above the Rim by Jen Bryant and Unspeakable by Carole Boston Weatherford. I’ve started Twins by VarĂan Johnson for BOB as well.
This Week's Adventures:
I’m making progress with The Storm Runner by J.C. Cervantes still and plan to finish listening to Twin. After Twins, I plan to read Mac Undercover and A Thousand Questions by Saadia Faruqi (also on our BOB list). Happy reading!
